Jewelry and Small Objects
In this course students learn basic metalsmithing proficiencies, but also examine jewelry’s place in art and adornment, and how objects can interact with the body. We look at everyday jewelry, jewelry as design, and contemporary art jewelry. Materials range from traditional non-ferrous metals, to found objects and personal mementos.
